Good clips start with clear answers.
What the Foxel beta does today, and where its limits are.
How does it find moments in a long stream?
The worker scans the full VOD for spoken hooks, short audio peaks, visual changes, and pauses. It builds clip-length windows with lead-in and follow-through, scores each signal, removes overlapping picks, and spreads useful options across long timelines. Up to 18 suggestions are shown. The score orders your review; it is not a predicted chance of going viral.
Which VOD links can I use?
Public, archived YouTube videos, Twitch /videos/ links, and Kick channel VOD links are supported when the platform exposes downloadable media. Private, subscriber-only, DRM-protected, and live streams are outside this beta. You can also upload MP4, MOV, MKV, or WebM files.
Do I need to own the footage?
You need to own the footage or have permission to process it. Import starts directly, with a short reminder beside the upload controls. You are responsible for rights to any video you publish.
Does the score predict a viral clip?
No. The score is a review estimate based on transcript hooks, sound energy, visual changes, speech activity, and natural boundaries. It helps order suggestions and is not a promise of reach or engagement.
Can I change the suggested moment?
Yes. Trim any suggestion or use Create a clip to pick your own 2–90 second moment. Choose a focused crop, split frame, or blurred backdrop in portrait, square, feed, or landscape, and use the optional overlay guide before exporting.
Can I add arrows, shapes, and cuts?
Use the advanced editor’s Text and Tools panels for timed text, shapes and emojis. Select an object on the video to move, resize or rotate it, then use its inspector for precise placement, timing and appearance. The timeline lets you split at the playhead, trim and reorder shots, remove sections and set transitions. Audio and captions follow the edit. Up to 12 shots and 12 annotation layers are supported.
Can I change speed or clean up audio?
Whole-clip speed supports 0.5× to 2×. In the advanced editor, select a shot and open Motion → Speed & ramps for that shot’s speed changes. Captions follow the edited timing. Audio controls include volume, optional pitch preservation, noise reduction, loudness matching and fades. Processed audio previews may need a moment to prepare; review the exported MP4 for the final mix. Noise reduction cannot reliably separate overlapping voices.
Can I combine clips?
In a source video, select 2–6 clips and choose Make a highlight reel. Arrange their order, keep the total under 180 seconds, and choose the same output shape for each clip. Choose Cut, Dissolve, Wipe, or Slide and set transition length. The worker joins the saved edits with matching subtitle files. Blends briefly overlap sound and captions; review the combined MP4. Individual downloads remain available.
Can I edit a file without scanning a whole VOD?
Yes. Open File tools from the toolkit to trim, resize, convert, compress, merge, reverse, change speed, make GIFs, extract MP3 audio, adjust channels, boost volume, or mute video. Upload up to six files totaling 512 MB. The tools skip transcription and moment detection. Edits use up to five minutes of selected footage; reverse is limited to 30 seconds and GIFs to 15 seconds. Preview the result before downloading.
Can I edit captions?
Yes. Open Subtitles to correct words and timing, change the style and position, or refine the selected clip with a larger local speech model. Swear words stay uncensored. Laughter cues and missed words can be edited manually. The font and style catalogs offer multiple looks; adjust size, color and outline, then save a reusable caption style. Speech recognition and laughter timing still need review.
Can I send an export into another file tool?
Open Result, then choose Use this result in another tool. A finished MP4 or MP3 becomes a new source project without downloading and uploading it again. The original result stays available. Unsaved file-tool settings recover after refreshing the same tab; changing settings marks the earlier export so you know to render again.
What does the Creator planner calculate?
Six planning tools cover clips from a source, posting consistency, posts for a view goal, views for a revenue goal, creator earnings, and CPM/RPM. They use your inputs and show the calculation. Supply your own revenue rates, using the same currency throughout; Foxel supplies no platform rates or growth guarantee. Posting remains manual.
Are my edits saved?
Use Save to persist VOD edits to the project. Switching clips also saves them. Unsaved VOD-editor drafts recover after a refresh in the same tab; closing that tab can remove recovery data. Undo and redo work during the current editing session. Trimming back and forth preserves caption corrections during that edit. In Stories, use Save draft before refreshing or closing the page; switching stories saves meaningful drafts.
Can I create a narrated story with gameplay?
Open Stories, write original or permitted text, and choose uploaded narration, local Kokoro neural voices when installed, or ElevenLabs when configured. Windows installations can also use installed system voices. Choose an available background, an abstract scene or your own permitted video. Adjust its start, crop and looping, correct captions, then export a 1080p MP4 with subtitles. Review the background’s credits and permissions before publishing. Background and caption edits reuse existing narration; changing the script or voice needs new narration. ElevenLabs sends your script to its service and uses provider credits.
Can I reuse my channel branding?
In Advanced edit → Overview, add an opening title and channel signature, then open Saved brand kits to save your look. A kit includes framing and caption appearance; applying it keeps the selected words and trim. You can keep up to 12 kits in your workspace. Titles and signatures appear in the exported video, while subtitle files contain only the captions.
Can I import my own subtitles?
In Advanced edit → Captions → Edit words, open More transcript options, then Use a subtitle file. Choose an SRT or VTT file and set whether its timestamps refer to the original video, the clip before cuts and speed changes, or the finished video. Cue text becomes editable words, with timing spread across each cue. Review word timing, then Save; Undo restores your earlier captions.
What do I download?
Each clip gets an H.264/AAC MP4 in your chosen shape and quality, with captions when enabled, plus SRT and VTT files. Delivery offers optional MP3 audio, a GIF preview of the first 12 seconds, and a JPG cover from a frame of the finished video. Use Review MP4 to watch the actual render. Select up to 18 clips for a background batch export and download a ZIP with the finished videos, subtitles, and enabled extra assets. Editing a clip requires a new export. Download source on a source video's review page saves the retained original upload or imported file.
How do I organize my clips?
Your workspace brings clips from every video into one library. Search titles, transcripts, and notes; star favorites; mark clips shortlisted or reviewed; and group them into collections. Downloads shows finished renders. Source videos keeps the original streams and processing status together. Archive is reversible until the source is cleaned up.
Can I switch between light and dark mode?
Use Appearance in the header to choose Light, Dark, or System. The setting is remembered in this browser across the website and studio. Your caption colors and finished videos stay as you designed them.
Where are my files stored?
Hosted projects use the operator’s configured storage and require your signed-in account. Local installations keep them on your computer. Account shows the current retention period for new projects; Library shows each existing project’s expiry. Saved changes renew the project’s period, while viewing it does not. Favorites and collections follow the same cleanup schedule. Upload size, source duration, project capacity and processing allowances follow the server settings shown in Account. Download finished clips you want to keep.
Is Stripe checkout active?
Checkout requires server configuration and explicit enablement. Pricing shows whether checkout is available, in test mode or still a launch preview. When enabled, verified Stripe payment events activate your allowance; returning from checkout alone does not grant credits. Account shows usage and available subscription settings. Local processing stays unmetered.
