From a recording to your first finished clip
Choose a useful moment, make it understandable and check the finished file.
Begin with footage you can use
Open your dashboard and choose Automatic clips. Upload a recording you own or have permission to edit. If a supported link cannot be imported, use a permitted local copy instead. Keep that original recording somewhere safe.
Set the number of moments and a target length that suit the recording. Choose a starting caption style and layout. These choices guide the first result; you can refine each clip afterward.
Choose a moment with a beginning and an end
When the results are ready, watch the whole suggested moment. Can someone understand it without the preceding conversation? Does it end after the thought is complete? A shorter clip is not automatically a clearer one.
Keep useful candidates and skip the others. Open Quick edit to check captions, framing, title and sound. Open Advanced edit when you need to adjust cuts or place a layer at a particular time.
Make the edit serve the moment
Correct names and misheard words before choosing an expressive caption look. Keep important faces and details inside the frame. Add a title only when it supplies context that the clip needs.
Play the clip from the start after making timing changes. Cuts and speed changes affect the finished timeline, so check where each caption and sound appears rather than relying only on its source timestamp.
Export, then review the export
Choose the output resolution and compression in Export video. The preview-quality menu changes the editing preview, not your export settings.
Watch the downloaded MP4 with sound. Confirm the opening, final frame and captions, then save the file and its subtitle files somewhere you control. Return to the project for another export if you make further edits.
